Affiliate marketing has changed over the years and now many people out there find that blogging is a great way to bring in some extra income. If you are already a blogger, all you have to do is keep writing high quality content as you always do and insert some affiliate links to bring in some additional cash.

Since there are so many products available, you can even discuss your own personal experience from the products that you own. This way you always have something to write about and you are being paid to do so. I will be discussing three reasons why affiliate marketing with a blog is a great way to earn some extra online income.

Reason #1: Get Paid For Doing What You Normally Do

If you have, coolio! If not, here’s a little tidbit on blogs.

There are mainly 2 types of blogs: 1) niche blogs on their passion and 2) personal blogs to share their day. A great example of niche blogs would be food blogs. Food blogs are usually driven by passion. The good news is, it is possible for both types of blogs to generate an income from affiliate marketing.

If you have a blog, I want you to go through your blog posts. Have you ever discussed a product or recommended a service?

Most likely, the answer is yes and the good news is, you can insert some affiliate links into your content and make a commission every time someone signs up or makes a purchase.

As long as you keep your quality the same as usual, you can make money off affiliate links. However, keep in mind you only want to recommend quality products and services to your readers as you have taken time gaining their trust and you do not want to lose it for a quick buck.

Reason #2: You Can Still Write on the Topics You Love

I challenge you to take some time today to sign up for some affiliate marketing programs and see what products and services can fit into your already existing blog posts. Add in your affiliate links, promote the content across your social media channels, and see what happens.

Most affiliate programs allow you to see the number of clicks you get on your links and the conversions. Test out a few different programs so you can see which ones work for your audience and go from there. However, when getting started with affiliate marketing I do recommend that you start slow and do not suddenly start bombarding your readers with links or they may stray away from your blog.

Reason #3: Passive Internet Income is Possible!

Maybe you might have a full time job like me. I know how hard it can be going to work every day or having to work at a job that you are starting to hate. The good news is affiliate marketing through blogging does not take much time at all and it is suitable even for busy people.

To start bringing in an income from affiliate marketing, you can write out your blog posts each weekend or whenever you are off work, and schedule them to post throughout the week. Thanks to the various social media scheduling tools available, you can even schedule out your social media promotion for the posts as well.

Affiliate marketing is so incredible because there is something for everyone to promote and once you have a blog with a good following all you have to do is sit back and wait for the money to start coming in. Honestly, once you get the links up in your blog posts you can make passive income even while you are sleeping.

What Should You Do Now?

If you are someone who already has an established blog or you are someone who is in the process of creating a blog, affiliate marketing can bring you a nice amount of extra money. It does not cause you to have to do something you are not already doing or planning to do, so there is no harm in trying it.

Some people I know are making a full time income from affiliate marketing alone! Therefore, who knows, this could happen for you too. If you are interested to learn more about affiliate marketing, you can check out my #1 recommendation that teaches you about Internet Marketing, 1 step at a time.
